Truth is....we need to talk about this.

Truth is....

Our peers are having babies, getting engaged, shacking up, and getting married left and right.

I know we are grown now and are adults in the real world, but the fact of the matter is we're still young. In high school, when I saw it begin, yes I was totally against teen pregnancies, com' on you're still in high school for God's sake, (yes accidents happen, emotions and passion get the best of us at that age) and now I'm not totally knocking it because like I said we're grown now, BUT, I would really like to know what is the rush?

It's becoming extremely common now. First it was having babies sometimes 2 3 by their early 20's but now more than ever I've been seeing our young people getting married. Not only could I not envision myself walking around with a baby 24/7 but I cannot, I repeat cannot envision myself being married at this point in my life. I still feel young, I still feel as though I am creating myself, I still feel like I have dreams to fulfill. Not saying you cant do any of those things with a child or in a marriage but I do believe its much much harder and clouds your vision.

I don't know what is going on in the world these days. But the fact of the matter is, it's common now and I would like to know why? Does anyone have any opinions, suggestions, theories, speculations as to why our young people are having children, sometimes more than one, shacking it up and getting married at this stage in their lives? Is there something I am missing? Is this just in my little community here on the south side of Chicago?

Need some help folks, what are your thoughts?
