SUNDAY SOLACE



For me, Sundays are a day of relaxation. A day for myself. Often times we are so engaged in our lives we forget about taking one day out of the week to slow it down, clear the mind, and re-energize. Students, especially college students know exactly what I'm talking about.

Man, when I was in college my weeks never had breaks. It was such a continuous, brain frying, draining time in my life. This is exactly how I discovered the importance of taking a day just for myself and stop all the worrying. I remember Ari had to literally drag me from my desk, books, and computer to the movies at least once a month. Thanks Ari!. I needed that lol

My day usually consists of going to church, eating a good heavy breakfast, cleaning my room,(using wallflowers from bath and body works to freshen up  my room) maybe watching a movie, and of course laying in my bed with my pjs and robe drinking some hot steaming tea, hot chocolate in the winter. And finally, I take a hot steaming shower with the lights off and candles lit. Sooo relaxing. :)

Your day doesn't have to be anything like mine. It doesn't have to be Sunday either. It is Sunday for me because it is the end of the weekend and the beginning of another week, so it helps me to prepare for the week to come. But, for you It can be any day that is convenient and comfortable for you. Remember its all about YOU!

Here are a few ideas for relaxation....


  • Take a long warm bath-with lights off and candles lit ;)
  • Listen to soothing music or your favorite music
  • Yoga
  • Simple stretching exercises
  • Take a walk, bike ride, refreshing run
  • Treat yourself to the movies
  • Indulge in a little sweets ;)
  • Read a book
  • Write in a journal
  • Get a massage or self massage
  • Give yourself a home spa treatment
  • Aromatherapy
  • Laugh, find a movie, show, youtube video that makes you laugh

If these don't tickle your fancy, then think about the things that you enjoy and do exactly that! Remember its all about YOU!
