Wisdom from Job

(Wisdom Wednesday)

Usually on Wisdom Wednesday's we give you a message from the Osteen's (Joel and Victoria). Today we're going to change it up a bit. The lesson is from the book of Job.

We can all learn from Job. He was a man God called, "blameless and upright." Job was God-fearing and never compromised his integrity. In the first two chapters of the text of Job, we learn who he is and the adversity he faced. His family, wealth, and health had all been stripped away from him. Read Job 1-2 Here.

See Job understood that in life's most difficult times we have two options:
1.) Turn to God in faith
      -or-
2.) Turn to away from God in distrust

With turning away from God,  Job new that his fate would leave him depression, further away from God, and in a rut. Choose today if you will turn to or away from God in your season of adversity. Job shows us that by standing firm in your faith and having patience things will turn around. Read the complete text of Job to see his outcome.

Remember these words of Frederick Douglass throughout your day, "if there is no struggle there is nor progress." Be wise in your decisions as you face adversity!
