Four more days had passed and Robin still haven’t been
found, Crystal still wasn’t talking to me, my parents were still confused about
everything, and my heart was still broken. I’ve never felt like this before and
hope to never feel like this ever again. For a second I thought about committing
suicide but I quickly came to reality and realized my faith in God that things
would soon get better. I was tired of being in this rut and I wanted everything
to be back to normal, I just didn’t know what I would do to get it all back.
I sat at my computer
typing and erasing, typing and erasing an email I was going to send Crystal.
Finally, I thought that wasn’t the route to go so I called Rick and asked him
to do me a favor. Thankfully he agreed and hopefully I would get a chance to
talk to Crystal again.
Later that evening, I met up with Rick at Six Degrees, a
quaint café near Crystal’s home. We sat in a booth towards the back of the café
as I talked about plan to get back with Crystal, but as soon as I saw Crystal’s
car pull into the parking lot I hopped up and jetted across the café and slid
on my hat until Rick gave me the signal.
When she walked in, her sexy black boots clicked and clacked
against the hard wood floor, her long hair was snuggled under her knitted hat,
and her face seemed to have attitude written across her face. I began to think
this was a bad idea.
As I watched her find Rick in the back of the café, I began
to remember the first time we came to this café for our second date. I missed
her so much, yet we were in the exact same room. Trying to focus on their
conversation, I barely could hear with all the other chatter in the café.
Rick: Hey Crystal, how are you?
Crystal: Fine
Rick: So, what’s been going on with you?
Crystal: Nothing
Rick: Uhhh…ready for Winter semester?
Crystal: Rick com’ on stop all this small talk I know you
called me here to talk about Desmond.
Rick: True, true. So, look, Desmond really wants to talk to
you, but you won’t answer any of his calls.
Crystal: Hmmmm could it be he slept with everybody and their
mama?
Rick: Crystal, I’m a man we make mistakes.
Crystal: Yea I know. Ya’ll make too many and don’t give two
shits.
Rick: Look Crystal, you gon talk to the man or not?
Crystal: No
Rick: Why?
Crystal: Why do you care?
Rick: Cuz ya’ll make a good couple and you know you want to
be with him.
Crystal: Look, I’m over this and I’m over him, so you can
tell him that!
Rick: I’ve never seen you like this.
Crystal: Well I’ve never been cheated on like this. Plus you
don’t even know the whole story, so I don’t even know why I’m sitting up here
humoring you.
Rick: Yea I do, he slept with Robin, you got mad and dumped
him.
Crystal: Exactly, YOU DON’T KNOW THE WHOLE STORY! That’s
what everybody think that I broke up with him because he slept with Robin; it
wasn’t just that. So get your facts straight before you try and be Mr. Fix it
and shit.
Rick: Then what is the whole story.
Crystal: None of your business.
I saw Crystal quickly get up and head to the door. Damn it!
I hopped up and hurried to the door and attempted to block her from leaving.
Crystal: Dude move out of my way!
Desmond: Crystal, I’m sorry.
When she saw that it was me, her eyes widened and anger
quickly filled every inch of her body because the next thing I knew blood was
running from my nose all over my coat and I watched her storm to her car and
drive away. Rick just looked at me shaking his head.
